A number keeps calling and you want to know who it is. A reverse phone lookup takes a phone number and looks for the person or organization behind it, using investigative databases and open-source research. Many numbers can be resolved this way and some cannot. All we need to start is the number and whatever context you have about it.

People ask for this to identify a caller who will not say who they are, to check who a number belongs to before responding to it, or to fill in a piece of a larger picture in another investigation. Because it is a records and database service, we handle it for clients anywhere in the country.

What a lookup can return

Depending on the number and what is on record, results may include a name, current and former addresses, email addresses, public social media profiles, other numbers connected to the same person, and family members or known associates.

Not every number produces all of that, and some produce very little. What comes back depends on how the number was registered, how recently the underlying records were updated, and whether the person has any public footprint at all.

Where free lookup sites fall short

Free reverse lookup sites draw on static databases assembled from public records, phone directories, and user submissions. That data ages, and nothing prompts it to correct itself.

We use investigative databases alongside open-source research, and we check the result rather than passing on whatever the first source returned.

What we cannot do

Some numbers cannot be resolved. Blocked and spoofed numbers generally cannot be unmasked without legal process, which is outside what a lookup can do. Numbers registered through internet calling services often lead nowhere useful, because there is little underlying record to find.

Lawful use

Identifying an unknown caller, checking who you are dealing with before responding, or reconnecting with someone you have lost touch with are all legitimate reasons to run a lookup. We confirm the purpose during the consultation.

What you receive

A written report setting out who we were able to associate with the number, the supporting data found, and how current we believe it to be. Where we could not resolve something, the report says so. Turnaround is generally within three days, and afterwards you can call a real person and talk it through.
