Private Investigation Services
Most cases come down to one of three things: locating a person, verifying who someone is, or documenting what is actually happening. Just the Facts Investigations is a licensed Texas investigations company, and the services below cover all three.
Records-based work, including background checks, skip tracing, reverse phone lookups, vehicle sightings and public records research, is available to clients nationwide. Surveillance and other in-person work covers Austin, Round Rock, Georgetown, Cedar Park and the rest of Central Texas. All consultations and cases are handled confidentially.
Each service below has its own page setting out what it covers, what it cannot establish, and what you receive. If you are not sure which one fits your situation, the consultation is free, and we would rather point you at the right service than sell you the one you happened to ask for.

How an engagement works
The same three steps every time, whatever the case.
What we will not do
These answers do not change with the circumstances, and they apply to every service on this page.
No tracking devices. We do not place a tracking device on a vehicle our client does not own. In Texas, installing an electronic tracking device on another person's vehicle without their consent is a criminal offense.
No monitoring or spyware software. Not on a phone, a computer or an account belonging to anyone other than the client. Depending on what is installed and what it captures, that conduct can violate both state and federal law.
No deception to reach private information. We do not hack accounts, send fake connection requests, or use pretext to obtain financial records. Everything in a report comes from lawful open-source methods, public records, and databases we are licensed to use.
No work intended to harm anyone. We will not take a case where the purpose is to stalk, harass, threaten or intimidate, and we will not take a case where a protective, restraining or no-contact order is in effect against the client with respect to the subject. Every agreement includes a certification you sign before any work begins.
No consumer reports from investigative work. The nine services on this page are investigative. Their reports are not prepared for, and may not be used to make, decisions about employment, credit, tenancy or insurance eligibility, which are governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Employers who need a report for a hiring decision should see our separate pre-employment background check, which we prepare under that framework.
